Psalm 66

This song declares:

Ps 66:16 Come and hear, all you who fear God,

And I will declare what He has done for my soul.

Ps 66:17 I cried to Him with my mouth,

And He was extolled with my tongue.

Ps 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart,

The Lord will not hear.

Ps 66:19 But certainly God has heard me;

He has attended to the voice of my prayer.

Ps 66:20 Blessed be God,

Who has not turned away my prayer,

Nor His mercy from me! (NKJV)

What a wonderful comfort to know that God hears you. To know without exception that He does not turn away our voices. If we are not hearing God in our life today it may be that sin has blocked our ability to hear the beauty and see the majesty of our Lord. Come and listen, that I might tell you what the Lord has done for me today!

Hardship.

We have experienced a lot of tragedy in our community over the past several weeks. As I prepare for Sunday, Paul reminds us to "endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ" (2 Timothy 2:3). We have a glorious hope in the salvation of our Lord. When hurt, pain, and tragedy attack we persevere, so that the glory of our God may be evident to all.

Psalm 61

We will be reading through Psalm 61 tonight During prayer meetings. Psalm 61:5 reminds us that David had a reputation and heritage of fearing the Lord. This has me thinking, "what legacy have we made this week?" I hope we have gained a reputation and heritage of fearing the Lord. If not, there are still three days left in the week.
